xx Starting to panic!
« Thread started on: Apr 5th, 2011, 10:06am »

Leaving a week from Thursday, starting to panic about the whole "dark side" part of our trip! shocked I can move around Disney with my eyes closed and be fine, we will be fish out of water at WWHP/IOA/Universal, trying to decide when to go, it will be insanely crowded no matter what, they will be open 8am every day, so I am guessing that we need to be there at 7am? We are splurging for at least one valet parking, it is only $10 more than regular parking. I am guessing a half hour drive from CSR to IOA? Any pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone! Oh, we have 3 day tickets, it was just a few more $ to get 3 over 2, didin't know how much we wanted to be there. Thinking about an evening first, just to get a feel of it before we do the comando thing and WWHP, please HELP!!!!

I have only been to the Dark Side 1x -- and that was pre-IOA (over 15 years ago!). shocked

So I am not any real help, but I just wanted to say:
1.) Have a great time!
2.) Enjoy the adventure -- with all of the new things to see, do, and experience
3.) I cannot wait to hear about your trip when you get back!

Jennifer- take a deep breath! LOTS of folks far less prepared than you have enjoyed US/IOA. You're going to be fine and have a good time! I've only been to US Hollywood, and although I'm drooling over WWOHP, until the boys are older I don't see us getting there.

I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the theme park maps, so you have an idea of the general layout. http://themagicforless.com/universal/ioaTearOffMap.pdf Some guidebooks have sections on Universal, such as this one from the Unofficial Guide folks- http://www.amazon.com/Beyond-Disney-Unofficial-Universal-SeaWorld/dp/0470886080/ref=pd_sim_b_3
And of course many message boards have active US/IOA forums, too.

Thanks Amy, if it weren't the week before Easter, I wouldn't be quite so worried, it is going to be insane at Disney too! Still, I can't wait! grin

I would say head right for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We were there for the day in October and the park overall wasn't that crowded but that area (which is pretty small in relation to the park as whole) was very crowded the whole time - I'm sure on a busy day it's wall to wall people.

There is an Unofficial Guide for Universal Studios - maybe you could take a look through it at the library or book store in the next few days for a few ideas!
