In case there are newbies who will soon be making calls for PS's, here's our strategy for getting the PS's we wanted:

We started off with a great plan for the 8 days we are going to be at WDW. (DH is in charge of this. His plan for last year was awesome we never had to wait more than 15 20 minutes for any ride!) By avoiding the parks on their peak days, we figure the wait for rides won't be too long and we have a better chance to get the PS's we want because they won't be as busy, either.

I turned on the TV Guide channel because it shows the time including seconds (which is important!) Using the same clock also made sure I would be using the same times each day and could adjust my calling time based on that clock. At 5:55 a.m. central time each day, I'd call the number to make sure it was programmed properly to use the redial button.

On the first day, I called at 5:56:00, and every 30 seconds after until I got the recording that their phone system was "experiencing increased demand". I discovered that they turned on the switchboard at 5:59:40 a.m. central time at least according to TV Guide channel wink. That initial recording was 20 seconds long. After that, they are still doing the survey where you have to press numbers in response to four questions. (I wrote down my answers so I could enter them on subsequent days without waiting to listen to the questions.) With the exception of one day (when the phones were delayed by a full minute), this worked every time. I never had to wait on hold just got right through to the operator.

Then, as other websites advise, I'd jump right in and say, for example, "I need Cindy's on July 18, 3 people." They'd take my information and get more details and the whole process was completed in a couple of minutes or so.

I hope that we get to do this again next year. I love the challenge of it and it gave us all a chance to celebrate each morning our upcoming trip!

Thanks Vicki! grin I'll be trying this in a couple of months when it's time to make our PSs for our trip - really want the Princess Breakfast in Norway for our littlest princess, and Cindy's would be great too! I know she won't remember it, but the photos will be once in a lifetime! User Image
